First Poms and Dance Camp a success and fun for All

Lifelong Learning introduced a new Poms and Dance Camp this summer, taught by Allison Emanuele, CU Buff Gold Dance team member and journalism student. Members of the Centaurus High School Poms team also took time out of their busy summer schedules to assist with the camp. For the last two weeks, girls ranging in age from 8 to 14 learned the fundamentals of various styles of dance from jazz to hip-hop. Some jazz techniques learned were: pirouettes, chaines, four step turns, leaps, kicks, jazz walks, pas de bourrees, chasse, ball change and more. This Thursday, the participants demonstrated their new dance skills in a lunch time performance for their parents and family. The girls had a great time and put tremendous effort into learning their routines. The crowd was impressed and entertained by the talented group. The first Poms and Dance camp was a success and we are planning to offer another class this fall. Stay tuned for more details.

Check out a few photos and a short video below of today's performance.
